Youth Fitness
Expo May 14, 2011, at Comcast Arena, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Youth Fitness Expo is a FREE
interactive day introducing known and new ideas in fitness, sports, nutrition
and overall health. It is designed to empower youth to make changes in their
lifestyle with a message of “Learn Today … Do Today.” The first 500 youth will
receive a free sport pack. The expo will hold a drawing for club memberships,
summer camp certificates, and event tickets; registration onsite required, but
need not be present to win. Visit www.Youth-Fitness-Expo.com for more
information, including a list of exhibitors.
5. Stuff the Bus is coming! A partnership coordinated by Everett Public Schools Foundation with community organizations and businesses has become an annual effort to gather backpacks and school supplies to help our students in need start the year prepared. Last year, over 1,500 students received backpacks filled with school supplies, and we have the same goal this year. Look for collection bins and Durham buses parked outside local businesses during the month of August. Each item collected helps prepare a student with the tools needed to learn.
